Betsy Scott, CPA

Ms. Scott has 40 years of accounting experience working for A-E design firms. She has become a nationally known expert on the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DCAA audit procedures (both pre-award and post-project cost audits), and allowable overhead calculations.

Ms. Scott assists SMC clients to prepare for FAR/DCAA audits, provides advice on allowable overhead calculations and executive management compensation/bonus plans. Often subtle wording changes can make the difference between an allowable incentive compensation bonus and a pure “profit distribution.”

Ms. Scott conducts seminars and training programs for A-E design firms and professional societies on FAR compliance procedures, audit preparation, wage & hour issues, and other A-E oriented accounting and financial management issues.
